Our history
From a home Bible study with 16 people to a 10-acre campus — this is the story of COLC.
After six years as traveling ministers, Bishop Joseph and Pastor Yolanda pioneer their first church in Zachary, Louisiana.
Following a second church in Baker, LA, the Morgans arrive in the Nashville, Tennessee area in the fall of 1988.
Celebration of Life Church holds its first worship service in the Morgans' own home with just 16 people. Bible study and prayer become the foundation.
COLC moves to a storefront in Hendersonville. In 1990, property is purchased in Gallatin, TN — where all three Morgan children would later be married.
COLC moves into a brand-new facility on 10 beautiful acres along the Vietnam Veterans Bypass in Hendersonville — the home the church calls its own today.
Bishop Joseph, Pastor Yolanda, Associate Pastor Wess Morgan, and Pastor Malik Morgan continue to lead a vibrant, multi-cultural church serving the Nashville area.
The people leading COLC
Three generations of the Morgan family — united by a single calling.
Bishop Joseph entered ministry at an early age, pioneering churches in Louisiana before establishing COLC in Hendersonville in 1989. A gifted teacher, author, and mentor, he regularly speaks at conferences and before the Tennessee State Legislature.
His book Quotes & Principles For Living has inspired believers across the country. His approach to ministry — deeply personal and powerfully biblical — has shaped thousands of lives over 35+ years.
Pastor Yolanda has been in ministry alongside Bishop Joseph since their early years as traveling ministers and musical guests. Her transparency and testimony openly sharing how God has brought them through every challenge resonates deeply with the congregation.
Her book To Hell and Back is a powerful account of faith, perseverance, and God's redemptive grace. She has emerged stronger and more determined to be a force for the Kingdom.
Associate Pastor Wess Morgan
Son of Bishop Joseph and Pastor Yolanda Morgan, Wess Morgan is a Billboard chart-topping gospel recording artist and Associate Pastor at COLC — part of a three-generation ministry legacy.
"This church isn't just where I grew up. It's where I come alive every Sunday."
Wess Morgan's music has appeared on Christian radio and television nationwide, charting on Billboard's Gospel chart. His latest CD release Churchy continues the ministry legacy of a family that has always put God's message to music.
Grandson of Bishop Joseph and Pastor Yolanda, and son of Wess Morgan — Pastor Malik Morgan is the third generation of the Morgan family ministry and leads Praise & Worship at COLC every Sunday.
Books, music & television
The Morgan family's ministry extends far beyond Sunday mornings — through books, recordings, and national Christian television.
Powerful insights and time-tested principles drawn from decades of ministry and life lived in pursuit of purpose.
A raw, honest, and inspiring testimony of how God's grace carried a family through unimaginable trials and brought them out stronger.
Wess Morgan's latest gospel release — available on all major streaming platforms. A powerful testament to a lifelong calling in music ministry.
